One of the first things you will notice about my lessons is who’s doing most of the talking – it’s you, the student. Tennis is a game driven by feel and technique, so it’s essential that I understand what you are experiencing on the court. I train my players to become their own on court coaches – able to self-assess, make adjustments, and truly understand their game.
This active learning approach helps players improve faster and retain more, compared to simply being told what to do for an hour.

Jay is the best tennis instructor! We started playing tennis with Jay as true beginners in our mid-30s looking to learn a new hobby. His patience, attentiveness, and individualized coaching strategies allowed us to become actual tennis players and true fans of the sport! Jay taught us not only how to play, but also how to observe and watch the professionals to help our game. He's so positive and motivating, and keeps you going through the toughest lessons. Truly couldn't recommend Jay enough!

If you have found Jay Molsing, your tennis is about to sky rocket. I started playing late in life and had no idea how to play doubles. Within 2 years I was captain of a USTA team, played line one, my team won the socal sections and competed at nationals. Whatever level you are at, Jay has the ability to focus on what you specifically need to work on. It's been an amazing experience. Jay is incredibly patient and his positive energy is infectious, making each session enjoyable and motivating. Highly recommend!

I've been a student of Jay's for several years, both in clinics and private lessons. Jay brings a lifetime of experience as a player and coach to all his lessons. When I overcomplicate things, Jay simplifies the game for me. When I am lazy or casual, he calls me out. His eye for detail detects what causes my mechanical as well as mental issues, and the solutions he provides always work. His drills pound the techniques into me, to the point that I still hear his voice whenever I play, especially if I'm losing my way in a match. Because Jay teaches everything with so much purpose, I have confidence that if I play the way I am taught, the game will come to me.

My two kids have been training with Coach Jay for about two years, and the progress has been amazing. His sessions are always fun, focused, and appropriately challenging. Thanks to his guidance, my kids now play with more strategy and confidence than ever before. Coach Jay knows how to motivate them and make each session enjoyable while still pushing them to improve. I highly recommend Coach Jay to any parent looking for a top-notch tennis coach!

Jay is my favorite teacher and coach! He matches his high level tennis IQ and skill seamlessly with his teaching charisma and sensitivity for each unique student. He improves my game every time we work together.

Jay is the best tennis coach on the West Coast. He's a true pro player who's great at channelling his knowledge and experience into his teaching, sharing his passion for the game with all of his students, no matter what their level.

As a competitive tennis player, I've worked with many coaches, but Jay stands out not just for his deep technical understanding of the game but also his in-match coaching. Jay has a unique ability to analyze players, adapt game plans, and he builds a relationship with his players founded on trust that has won me matches and made me a better competitor.

Jay Molsing is the best tennis coach in Los Angeles. Period. He can take an intermediate player to a 4.0 in no time flat. And he entertains you while doing it. If you want to seriously improve your game and have fun doing it book Jay ASAP.

Jay is one of the most professional and enjoyable coaches I have ever worked with. His passion and motivation encourages you to reach your highest potential.

Jay is the GOAT. He's been my coach for almost 25 years and has the skill, compassion and love of the sport to make lessons super exciting and challenging. I couldn't imagine a week going by without hitting with Jay. Absolutely the best!

If you want a tennis coach that wants to make you a better player then jay's your man. Some are just happy for you to hit a few balls back and forth but with jay if he thinks you can do something better he'll work with you and make you a better player. Honestly only have good things to say about the guy. He's super patient very likeable and just a really good guy who's also a really really good tennis player.

TENNIS Side Projects
The Serving Tree
– Due to the complex interplay of biomechanics, technique and mental fortitude, the serve is easily the hardest stroke to learn in tennis.
– After speaking to instructors all across the country, and hearing what each pointed ourt as the biggest obstacles their clients faced when learning the serve, I created THE SERVING TREE, an apparatus that helps with tossing accuracy, swing path, extension and pronation.

The Serving App
– A mobile app designed to help players learn/improve/perfect their serve.
– Can be used on its own or in conjunction with THE SERVING TREE.
– Recordings of the user’s serve is placed over that of a “GHOST” version of a professional serve.
– The user can then watch, frame by frame, their service motion over the “GHOST” version of the professional serve.
– The user then makes adjustments, records themselves again, and has that recording placed over the “GHOST” again.
– Repeat until there are no more deviations.
